The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) is pleased to announce the appointment of Assistant Comptroller of Immigration (ACI) Akinsola Akinlabi as its new spokesperson. This decision was made by the Comptroller General of NIS, Kemi Nandap, and is effective immediately.
ACI Akinlabi, a distinguished officer with extensive experience in immigration affairs, hails from Ibarapa Central Local Government Area in Oyo State. He has been a dedicated member of the Nigeria Immigration Service since December 29, 2006. Prior to this appointment, Akinlabi served as an Immigration Attaché at the Nigerian Embassy in The Hague, Netherlands, where he successfully managed various diplomatic and immigration-related responsibilities.
In his new role as the Service Public Relations Officer, Akinlabi will be responsible for enhancing communication strategies and fostering positive relationships between the NIS and the public. His appointment comes as part of a broader effort to improve transparency and engagement within the immigration sector.
Comptroller General Kemi Nandap expressed confidence in Akinlabi's capabilities, stating, "His wealth of experience and commitment to service will be invaluable as we continue to navigate the complexities of immigration management in Nigeria."
ACI Akinlabi succeeds KT Udo and is expected to bring fresh perspectives to the NIS's public relations initiatives. He is committed to upholding the integrity of the service while ensuring that accurate information is disseminated to the public.
