The Kano State Hisbah Board has confirmed the arrest of 62 individuals—comprising 27 men and 35 women—following a coordinated operation targeting alleged immoral activities in Dawakin Kudu Local Government Area.
According to Deputy Commandant Mujahid Aminudeen, the arrests were made on Sunday at the Nigerian Institute of Transport Technology (NITT) training centre. The operation, conducted in collaboration with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), was initiated after intelligence reports indicated that individuals were “taking advantage of the heavy rainfall to engage in immoral acts.”
Aminudeen emphasized the board’s commitment to upholding Sharia law and maintaining public morality. “Hisbah will not allow people to continue breaking Sharia law,” he stated, urging residents to report similar incidents to the authorities.
