In a recent interview with Le Monde, Rafael Grossi, the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), expressed concerns about Iran's progress toward developing an atomic bomb. Grossi stated that while Iran still has steps to take before acquiring a nuclear weapon, the country is "not far from it."

Grossi likened the process to assembling a jigsaw puzzle, emphasizing that Iran possesses the necessary components and could potentially complete the puzzle in the future. His remarks come ahead of his scheduled visit to Tehran for discussions with senior Iranian officials.

The IAEA has been tasked with monitoring Iran's compliance with the 2015 nuclear agreement, which faced significant setbacks following the United States' withdrawal during the Trump administration.

Grossi's comments underscore the urgency of diplomatic efforts to address Iran's nuclear ambitions and ensure regional and global security.
