The Super Falcons of Nigeria have reaffirmed their reign as queens of African football, securing a record-extending 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title after staging a sensational comeback to defeat Morocco in the 2024 final.

In a packed Stade Moulay Abdellah in Rabat, the host nation roared ahead early on, fueled by passionate home support and tactical precision. But Nigeria—armed with legacy, resilience, and an undying championship spirit—mounted a fearless response that saw them equalize and ultimately seal the win with a late second-half strike.

Captain Rasheedat Ajibade, whose leadership and composure anchored Nigeria’s campaign, was named Player of the Tournament, while forward Esther Okoronkwo etched her name in gold, netting the winning goal that ignited celebrations from Lagos to Abuja.

NFF President Ibrahim Gusau praised the team’s achievement, saying: "This victory is not just a win for Nigerian football, but a moment of pride for every African girl dreaming big. Our women have shown that grit, talent, and teamwork can conquer any challenge."
