The Presidency has issued a strong statement condemning Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume (APC, Borno South) for his alleged lack of tangible contributions to his constituency during his 22-year tenure in the National Assembly.

Daniel Bwala, Special Adviser on Policy Communication to President Bola Tinubu, described Senator Ndume as a "villainous exploiter" who has failed to deliver meaningful projects or resettle victims of Boko Haram insurgency in Borno South.

Highlighting the plight of over 120,000 internally displaced persons from Borno South still stranded in Cameroon, Bwala criticized Ndume for not leveraging his influential roles, including Majority Leader and Chairman of Senate Committees on Defence and Army, to address these pressing issues.

Bwala further debunked claims that Ndume sponsored the bill establishing the North-East Development Commission (NEDC), attributing the legislative achievement to Senator Murtala Nyako. He also pointed out the absence of completed constituency projects and the failure of most of Ndume's bills to progress beyond the second reading.

The Presidency emphasized the need for accountability and urged Senator Ndume to provide evidence of his contributions to Borno South. In contrast, Bwala praised Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan for her impactful work in Kogi Central within a much shorter legislative tenure.
