In a historic ceremony held at the Government House in Owerri, Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State presented certificates and staff of office to 66 newly appointed traditional rulers. This significant event underscores the administration's commitment to fostering peace, security, and effective leadership at the grassroots level.

During his address, Governor Uzodimma emphasized the critical role of traditional rulers in maintaining law and order within their communities. He urged the monarchs to lead with honesty, justice, and a sense of divine responsibility, reminding them that their authority stems from the trust and respect of their people.

"You are recognized as ambassadors of your communities and partners in governance," the governor stated. "Your leadership must reflect the values of peace, security, and unity. Any deviation from these principles will not be tolerated."

The governor also highlighted the importance of collaboration between traditional rulers and local government authorities to ensure the safety and well-being of their communities. He encouraged the monarchs to establish vigilance groups and work closely with the youth to address security challenges.

In response, the newly inaugurated monarchs expressed their gratitude to the governor for the honor and pledged their commitment to fostering peace and development in their respective domains. Speaking on behalf of the group, Prof. Peter Nnabuo, the Traditional Ruler of Umuezeala/Umueme Community, assured the governor of their dedication to upholding the responsibilities entrusted to them.
