Tsiga, who was abducted on February 7, 2025, while traveling to his hometown in the northern part of Nigeria, was released in the early hours of today following a series of negotiations and concerted efforts by security agencies, family members, and well-meaning Nigerians. While the details surrounding his release remain largely undisclosed, it is understood that no ransom was paid, and Tsiga's freedom was secured through relentless efforts by the authorities.

The former NYSC Director-General’s abduction had drawn widespread concern from across the country, with both public figures and private citizens condemning the rising spate of kidnappings across the region. Upon his release, Tsiga was reported to be in relatively stable condition but was immediately taken to a medical facility for a thorough check-up. His family expressed immense relief and gratitude towards the authorities, security personnel, and the Nigerian public for their support during this trying period.
