Nigerian football sensation Victor Osimhen has announced his intention to take legal action against a Turkish journalist who recently accused him of assault and attempting to offer hush money. The renowned striker, who currently plays for Serie A giants Napoli, has vehemently denied the allegations, calling them defamatory and false.

In a statement released through his legal team, Osimhen expressed his frustration over the damaging claims made by the journalist, who published the accusations through a Turkish media outlet earlier this week. The journalist, whose identity has not been disclosed, alleged that Osimhen was involved in an altercation during a recent visit to Turkey and subsequently tried to bribe the journalist with a large sum of money to suppress the story.

"I am deeply disturbed by these baseless and unfounded allegations. They not only misrepresent my character but also tarnish my reputation, both professionally and personally," Osimhen said in the statement. "I will not stand idly by while such lies are spread, and I will pursue every legal avenue to protect my name and integrity."

Osimhen’s legal representatives have confirmed that they are working closely with local and international authorities to bring the responsible parties to justice. They also emphasized that they are prepared to take the matter to court, should it be necessary, to seek both legal and financial redress.
