Governor Dikko Radda has strongly condemned the recent attack on Kankara General Hospital, where armed bandits injured two individuals and abducted three others on January 14, 2025. The governor described this act as a "heinous crime against humanity" and reaffirmed his administration's commitment to ensuring the safety and security of all citizens in Katsina State.

The attack occurred at approximately 8:20 PM when heavily armed assailants stormed the hospital, creating chaos among staff and patients. In a swift response, security forces engaged the attackers, leading to a brief gun battle that ultimately forced the bandits to retreat. The injured victims were promptly taken to a medical facility for treatment and are currently in stable condition.

Governor Radda expressed his outrage over this incident, stating, "Attacking a healthcare facility is an affront to our collective humanity. We will not tolerate this violence against our people and institutions." He assured residents that the state government is taking immediate action to enhance security measures across Katsina.

In light of this attack, the governor has directed the Katsina State Police Command to intensify patrols and surveillance around healthcare facilities and other vulnerable locations. Additionally, he announced that a comprehensive manhunt has been initiated to apprehend the perpetrators of this attack and rescue the kidnapped individuals.

The governor's commitment to combating insecurity is underscored by recent investments in security initiatives. The Katsina State government has earmarked over ₦30 billion for security operations aimed at equipping law enforcement agencies and supporting community-based initiatives designed to prevent crime and enhance public safety.
