The National Sports Commission (NSC) has officially confirmed that all match bonuses owed to Nigeria’s Super Falcons have been paid, with the promised $100,000 cash reward and three-bedroom apartments for each player now actively being processed.

Director-General of the NSC, Hon. Bukola Olopade, made the announcement during a live interview on Arise TV, addressing recent concerns raised by team captain Rasheedat Ajibade. “I can confirm authoritatively that all their bonuses have been paid,” Olopade stated, adding that only one or two players may be experiencing delays due to banking issues with the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Following the Super Falcons’ historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title win in Morocco, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu pledged a $100,000 reward, a three-bedroom apartment, and national honours for each player. Olopade assured that these commitments are being fulfilled in collaboration with the Minister of Works and Housing and the Renewed Hope Housing Initiative.

“We are in a government that fulfills promises. When we tell athletes ‘A’ will be given, they get ‘A’. We don’t play games with their remuneration,” Olopade emphasized.

The NSC reiterated its dedication to athlete welfare and transparency, noting that the housing allocation process is already underway and that the presidential cash reward will be disbursed shortly.
