In a bold and controversial move, President Donald Trump has called for the immediate removal of homeless individuals from the U.S. capital, citing concerns over public safety, cleanliness, and the city’s image.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, President Trump stated: “The Homeless have to move out IMMEDIATELY. We will give you places to stay, but FAR from the Capital. The Criminals, you don’t have to move out. We’re going to put you in jail where you belong.”

The announcement comes ahead of a scheduled press conference at the White House, where the President is expected to outline his broader vision for restoring order and beauty to Washington, D.C. Trump emphasized that the capital should become “safer and more beautiful than it ever was before.”

Federal officials are reportedly drafting plans to deploy National Guard personnel to assist in the relocation efforts, although no final decisions have been confirmed. The President did not provide specific details on where displaced individuals would be housed or how the operation would be executed.

This directive follows weeks of heightened rhetoric from the President regarding crime and homelessness in the capital. Trump has repeatedly criticized D.C.'s Democratic leadership, particularly Mayor Muriel Bowser, and has floated the possibility of placing the city under direct federal control.
