Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), one of Nigeria’s leading institutions of higher learning, is urgently appealing to the public for assistance in locating one of its students, Miss Dorcas Oseghale, who has been missing for four days.

Dorcas, a 300-level student in the Department of Sociology and Anthropology, was last seen on campus on the morning of August 6, 2025. Despite efforts by university security personnel and local authorities, her whereabouts remain unknown.

In an official statement released today, the Vice-Chancellor, Professor Simeon Adewale, expressed deep concern over the situation: “Dorcas is a valued member of our academic community, and her sudden disappearance has left us deeply troubled. We are working closely with law enforcement agencies and her family to ensure every possible avenue is explored. We urge anyone with credible information to come forward immediately.”

In collaboration with student organizations, OAU has launched the hashtag #FindDorcasOseghale to raise awareness and gather support across digital platforms. The university urges everyone to share the message widely.
