The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) wishes to clarify recent media reports surrounding the status of its Group Chief Executive Officer, Mr. Bayo Ojulari.
Despite widespread speculation regarding his alleged resignation, Mr. Ojulari actively participated in an official assignment on Monday, August 4, 2025. He joined the annual conference of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) Nigerian Council via virtual platform, where he delivered a keynote address to industry stakeholders.
This appearance marks his first public engagement since unconfirmed reports surfaced over the weekend suggesting his departure from the company. NNPCL staff were earlier advised via internal memo to disregard the circulating rumours, reaffirming that Mr. Ojulari continues to discharge his duties as Group CEO.
The company acknowledges the concerns raised by the public and stakeholders and assures that any official changes in leadership will be communicated transparently and promptly. As of this release, there has been no formal resignation tendered by Mr. Ojulari, nor any confirmation from the Presidency regarding such action.
