In a chilling escalation of violence in Kwara North, a group of armed terrorists launched a midnight assault on Gamalegi village in the Lafiagi Emirate, abducting four residents and plunging the community into chaos and fear.

The attack occurred around 11:00 PM on Tuesday night, as heavily armed gunmen stormed the quiet village, firing sporadically and seizing their victims before vanishing into the surrounding bush. Eyewitnesses described the scene as “hell on earth,” with no resistance from security forces during the raid.

This latest incident adds to a disturbing pattern of violence in Kwara State. Just days earlier, similar attacks were reported in Lade and Gbale communities, where multiple residents, including a one-year-old child, were kidnapped. The region has also witnessed deadly assaults, including the killing of a police officer and another civilian in Babanla community.

Local residents are calling for urgent intervention from both the Kwara State Government and federal authorities. “We are living in fear. Our communities are under siege, and we need real protection,” said one anonymous source.

Efforts to obtain a statement from the Kwara State Police Command have so far been unsuccessful. The silence from official channels has only deepened public anxiety and frustration.
