The Kebbi State Government mourns the passing of His Royal Highness, Maj.-Gen. Muhammadu Sani Sami (Rtd.), the revered Emir of Zuru, who died at the age of 81 on Saturday night in a London hospital following a brief illness.








The announcement was made by Alhaji Garba Umar-Dutsinmari, the Kebbi State Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, who expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the monarch, describing him as a pillar of wisdom, peace, and leadership in the Zuru Emirate and beyond.









Maj.-Gen. Sani Sami, also known as Gomo II, was a retired military officer who brought discipline, dignity, and development to his emirate during his reign. His legacy includes decades of service to his people, fostering unity and cultural pride throughout Kebbi State.









He is survived by four wives and seven children. Burial arrangements will be announced in due course by the Zuru Emirate Council.










Governor Atiku Bagudu and other dignitaries have extended their condolences to the royal family and the people of Zuru, urging them to remain united during this period of mourning.
