The newly inaugurated National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, has vowed to reposition and expand the party across all regions of the country while fostering internal cohesion and loyalty among members.

Speaking at the APC National Secretariat in Abuja during his official assumption of office, Dr. Yilwatda expressed deep gratitude to the party’s leadership and members for the confidence reposed in him. He pledged to build on the foundation laid by his predecessors and work tirelessly to strengthen the APC's presence nationwide.

“Today marks a new chapter for our great party. I accept this responsibility with humility and an unyielding resolve to build a more united, inclusive, and formidable APC,” Yilwatda said. “We must move forward together—loyal to our ideals, respectful of our diversity, and committed to a common vision for Nigeria.”

The new chairman emphasized the need to deepen party discipline, widen the membership base, and ensure a more transparent and participatory structure. He announced plans to engage youth, women, and grassroots supporters in new ways to reinforce the APC’s position as the dominant political force in Nigeria.

Yilwatda also extended a hand of reconciliation to aggrieved members and called for an end to internal wrangling that has plagued the party in recent months.

“Let us close ranks and put aside personal differences. This party belongs to all of us, and only together can we deliver the dividends of democracy to Nigerians,” he stated.

Top party leaders, including governors, lawmakers, and members of the National Working Committee, attended the ceremony and expressed optimism about Yilwatda’s leadership ushering in a new era of unity, discipline, and strategic growth.

Dr. Yilwatda, a seasoned technocrat and former governorship candidate of the APC in Plateau State, replaces Abdullahi Ganduje following his resignation. Party stakeholders describe his emergence as a strategic move to consolidate APC’s strength ahead of upcoming local and state elections.
