President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has unveiled plans for the construction of a new, state-of-the-art national secretariat for the All Progressives Congress (APC), signaling a bold step toward strengthening the party’s administrative capacity and institutional legacy.
Speaking during a high-level strategy session with APC leaders in Abuja on Wednesday, President Tinubu described the project as “a necessary and strategic investment in the future of our great party.” The proposed secretariat, he noted, will serve as a modern hub for party operations, research, communication, and policy development.
“This new secretariat will not just be a building; it will be the symbol of our unity, discipline, and commitment to democratic ideals,” Tinubu said. “We are laying a solid foundation for future generations of progressive leaders and ensuring the APC remains organized, effective, and responsive.”
The President also emphasized that the project aligns with his broader vision of political renewal, internal party cohesion, and institutional development. He added that the secretariat will reflect transparency, inclusivity, and innovation, with space designed to accommodate all wings of the party, including women, youth, and support groups.
APC National Chairman, Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, praised the initiative as “a visionary move” that demonstrates President Tinubu’s unwavering dedication to the party’s growth and structural advancement. “We have outgrown the current secretariat. This is long overdue,” Ganduje remarked.
Details about the project's location, funding strategy, and timeline are expected to be made public in the coming weeks. Tinubu has also directed a special committee to be constituted to oversee the planning and execution of the project.
