The Iranian government has strongly condemned the Trump administration’s newly imposed travel ban, calling it a clear demonstration of deep hostility toward Iranians and Muslims worldwide. The policy, which restricts entry to the United States for nationals from 12 countries, including Iran, has been labeled by Iranian officials as racist and supremacist.
Alireza Hashemi-Raja, Director General for the Affairs of Iranians Abroad at the Iranian Foreign Ministry, stated that the ban reflects “the dominance of a supremacist and racist mentality among American policymakers.” He further criticized the measure as a violation of international law, arguing that it unjustly deprives millions of people of their fundamental right to travel based solely on nationality or religion.
The travel ban, set to take effect on June 9, 2025, mirrors previous restrictions imposed during Trump’s first term in office. The Iranian government has urged the international community to reject discriminatory policies that target specific religious and ethnic groups under the guise of national security.
Iran’s Foreign Ministry has vowed to pursue diplomatic measures to challenge the ban and protect the rights of Iranian citizens affected by the restrictions. Officials have also called on human rights organizations to denounce the policy and advocate for fair and inclusive immigration practices.
