Governor Siminalayi Fubara has addressed the people of Rivers State, condemning recent acts of sabotage aimed at destabilizing the region and crippling its progress. The governor made the statement during a press briefing, emphasizing that despite the efforts of those seeking to sow discord, Rivers State remains resolute and committed to maintaining peace and progress.
Governor Fubara strongly condemned the actions of certain individuals and groups who, according to him, are determined to create instability and undermine the development strides the state has made. These saboteurs, he added, have engaged in various disruptive activities to destabilize the economy and undermine the security of the people.
"Let me make it clear to those who seek to cause chaos and bring instability to our state: they will not succeed," Governor Fubara said. "The people of Rivers State are resilient, and we are united in our determination to continue with the progress we have made. Their attempts to cripple us, whether through violence, economic sabotage, or misinformation, will not break our spirit."
The governor assured the people that his administration would continue to strengthen the security apparatus and work closely with law enforcement agencies to ensure that those behind these acts of sabotage are swiftly brought to justice.
"We will not relent in our efforts to provide safety, security, and economic growth to Rivers State. The people who seek to create unrest must know that we are ready to defend our progress, and we will not allow their plans to succeed," Governor Fubara added.
The governor also used the opportunity to appeal to the people of Rivers State to remain vigilant and report any suspicious activities to the authorities. He reiterated that unity and cooperation are key to ensuring that the state continues on its path to prosperity.
