The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested popular Lagos socialite, Emeka Okonkwo, widely known as E-Money, for alleged abuse of the Naira and defacing foreign currency.

E-Money was reportedly taken into custody on Monday night at his residence in the Omole area of Lagos. Sources within the commission confirmed that his arrest was linked to his alleged act of spraying United States dollars at public events, which is considered a violation of the Foreign Exchange Act.

A spokesperson for the EFCC declined to comment on the matter, but sources indicate that E-Money is currently being transported to Abuja for further questioning.
