Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has officially written to the Rivers State House of Assembly requesting a new date for the presentation of the 2025 Budget. This comes after a prior request to present the budget was rescheduled due to unforeseen circumstances.

Governor Fubara, in his letter to the Assembly, expressed his commitment to ensuring a well-coordinated budgetary process, emphasizing the importance of securing legislative approval for the state’s financial plans for the upcoming year. The rescheduling is aimed at allowing ample time for the completion of all necessary preparations and ensuring a thorough presentation of the budget to the Assembly for deliberation and passage.

The Governor highlighted that the new proposed date for the budget presentation will align with the state’s developmental agenda, aimed at advancing key infrastructure projects, social services, and economic growth for the people of Rivers State.

“I remain dedicated to the welfare and prosperity of our people. The 2025 budget is vital in setting the stage for the state’s continued progress, and I look forward to working closely with the Assembly to achieve this vision,” Governor Fubara said.

The Rivers State House of Assembly has acknowledged the request and is expected to review and respond to the Governor’s letter in due course.
