In a shocking revelation, former Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai, has accused the current Governor, Uba Sani, of misappropriating funds meant for local governments in the state. According to El-Rufai, Governor Sani has been siphoning public resources to purchase properties in various international locations, including the United Kingdom, South Africa, and other countries.

El-Rufai made these claims in a public statement issued earlier today, alleging that Governor Sani’s actions have undermined the welfare of the people of Kaduna State, particularly by diverting funds intended for local development. The former governor emphasized that the misappropriation of funds had been systematically carried out under the guise of administrative expenses, with local government allocations being funneled into offshore investments.

"The people of Kaduna State have been subjected to a continuous betrayal as public funds, meant to uplift local governments and improve the living conditions of ordinary citizens, are being funneled into extravagant property acquisitions abroad," El-Rufai stated. "This is not only a violation of the trust placed in public officeholders but also a gross abuse of power."

El-Rufai further pointed to a series of properties allegedly acquired by Governor Sani, including high-end real estate in the UK and South Africa, as evidence of his claims. The former governor called for an immediate investigation into these transactions and urged the relevant authorities to hold those responsible accountable for their actions.

The allegations have raised serious questions about the governance and financial transparency within the Kaduna State government. Opposition leaders and civil society groups have also expressed concerns over the potential misuse of public funds, demanding swift action to ensure that the funds meant for the development of local governments are properly allocated and spent.

Governor Uba Sani, who has yet to publicly respond to the accusations, faces growing pressure from both political rivals and the general public. His administration’s handling of the matter will likely be a key point of scrutiny in the months ahead.
