The White House has confirmed that the Israeli government consulted with the Trump administration prior to launching its latest airstrikes on Gaza. This development comes amidst heightened tensions in the region following the breakdown of a ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas.

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt stated in an interview with Fox News that the Trump administration was informed of Israel's plans before the strikes were carried out. "The Trump administration and the White House were consulted by the Israelis on their attacks in Gaza tonight," Leavitt said.

The airstrikes, which targeted Hamas positions, have resulted in significant casualties, with Palestinian authorities reporting dozens of deaths. The strikes mark the most intense military operation in Gaza since the ceasefire was established in January.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu defended the decision, citing stalled negotiations over extending the ceasefire as the primary reason for the military action. "We will act with increasing military strength to ensure the safety and security of our citizens," Netanyahu stated.

The Trump administration reiterated its stance against groups it considers threats to both Israel and the United States. "As President Trump has made it clear, Hamas, the Houthis, Iran, and all those who seek to terrorize not just Israel but also the United States of America will see a price to pay," Leavitt added.
