In a continued effort to revitalize Kwara State’s hospitality sector, Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq has announced plans to spend N10 billion in 2025 to rehabilitate and upgrade key hotel infrastructure. This follows a record N13 billion investment in hotel renovations and upgrades made in 2024.

The Governor made the announcement during a strategic meeting aimed at boosting the state’s tourism, hospitality, and economy, emphasizing the vital role that the hospitality industry plays in Kwara's economic growth.

The N13 billion invested last year contributed to the renovation of several major hotel chains and recreational facilities across the state, enhancing the comfort and overall experience for visitors and residents. These efforts have already begun to yield positive results, with increased hotel bookings, employment opportunities, and a noticeable uptick in the number of tourists visiting the state.

"Tourism is an important sector for job creation, revenue generation, and cultural exchange, and we remain committed to further developing it for the benefit of Kwara's economy and people," Governor AbdulRazaq said. "The N10 billion we are allocating in 2025 will help continue this transformative effort, ensuring that our state remains a key destination for business and leisure travelers alike."

The Governor's initiative is part of a broader vision to position Kwara as a regional leader in tourism and hospitality by improving existing facilities and attracting new investments. With this additional investment, the state government hopes to boost local employment, increase tourism revenues, and foster a business-friendly environment for hospitality industry investors.
