Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky arrived in Munich today for the annual Munich Security Conference, amidst rising international tensions following recent talks between U.S. President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin. The talks, which have raised alarms in Western capitals, have fueled concerns about potential shifts in U.S. foreign policy toward Russia, particularly regarding the ongoing conflict in Ukraine.

During his keynote address, Zelensky emphasized the importance of continued Western support for Ukraine, underscoring the country's commitment to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of Russian aggression. He urged world leaders to strengthen their resolve in supporting Ukraine's fight against Russian forces, noting that the stakes have never been higher.

The unexpected Trump-Putin talks, which took place in Moscow last week, have stirred unease among NATO allies. Critics warn that any potential rapprochement between the U.S. and Russia could undermine international efforts to isolate Russia diplomatically and weaken the unity of Western alliances. There are growing fears that such dialogue may embolden Putin and reduce pressure on Russia to cease its destabilizing activities in Ukraine and other regions.

In his remarks, Zelensky stressed the need for solidarity among democratic nations, calling for greater coordination and action to address the ongoing crisis in Ukraine. "We are standing on the frontlines of freedom and democracy, and the world must stand with us," Zelensky stated, highlighting the growing humanitarian crisis caused by the war and the need for increased military aid and diplomatic pressure on Moscow.
