a tragic incident occurred in Katsina State involving the fatal shooting of a 400-level student from the Federal University Dutsin-Ma (FUDMA) by members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF). The student, identified as Saidu Abdulkadir, was traveling on a commercial motorcycle when he was mistakenly targeted.
The incident took place at Kashe-Naira Quarters when the motorcycle allegedly failed to stop at a checkpoint.
Abdulkadir, from the Department of Agricultural Extension, sustained fatal gunshot wounds. the motorcyclist, Abubakar Yusuf, was also injured and is receiving medical attention.
"We are deeply saddened by this unfortunate event and extend our condolences to the family and friends of the deceased. We urge for a thorough investigation and call for measures to prevent such incidents in the future," said Prof. Armaya’u Bichi, Vice-Chancellor of FUDMA.
