In a bid to enhance transparency and improve communication with the public, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed all newly appointed ministers to actively brief Nigerians on their respective ministries' activities and policies. This move, which aims to foster accountability and deepen the relationship between the government and the citizens, comes as part of the administration’s broader efforts to ensure open governance.

The President’s directive was issued during the inaugural meeting with the ministers at the State House in Abuja. According to Tinubu, it is crucial for government actions to be communicated clearly and effectively to the public, ensuring that Nigerians are well-informed on key issues affecting their lives.

"Your responsibility extends beyond just executing policies. It is also important that you keep the citizens in the loop on the direction we are heading as a nation. Nigerians deserve to know what we are doing and how it impacts their daily lives," Tinubu said.

The briefings will cover a wide range of topics, including ongoing projects, new policy developments, and future plans, allowing citizens to stay engaged with the government's progress. This initiative also underscores the administration’s commitment to transparency, participation, and inclusivity in the governance process.

The President emphasized that these updates should not only be limited to traditional media but should also embrace digital platforms to ensure the message reaches a broader audience, particularly the youth.
