The Governor of Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has strongly condemned the violent actions of a group of irate youths who attacked the palace of the traditional ruler, the Ooni of Ile-Ife, leaving the monarch injured and causing significant damage to the royal residence. Governor Adeleke issued a stern warning to the perpetrators, urging them to desist from further acts of violence and chaos.

In a statement issued from the Governor’s Office, Adeleke expressed his deep concern over the escalation of violence, stressing that no individual or group has the right to take the law into their own hands. He called on law enforcement agencies to swiftly apprehend those responsible for the attack and ensure they face the full weight of the law.

“This act of violence is not only an attack on the revered office of the monarch but also an affront to the peace and unity of Osun State. I will not tolerate any form of lawlessness that threatens the security and safety of our people. Our administration is committed to ensuring that the perpetrators are brought to justice,” Governor Adeleke said.

The Governor also sent his heartfelt wishes for the swift recovery of the injured monarch, expressing his solidarity with the traditional institution and assuring that the government would work closely with security agencies to maintain peace in the state.
