The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Tunji Disu, has broken his silence following the tragic death of his son, expressing deep sorrow and heartfelt grief over the loss.
In a statement released today, Commissioner Disu thanked well-wishers for their support and sympathy during this difficult time. He spoke candidly about the overwhelming pain that accompanies the loss of a child, describing the event as a devastating blow to both his family and himself personally.
"Words cannot adequately describe the depth of grief that comes with the loss of a loved one, especially one so young," Commissioner Disu stated. "As a family, we are heartbroken, but we take solace in the love and memories that will forever live on in our hearts."
The circumstances surrounding the death of his son remain under investigation, and Commissioner Disu requested privacy for his family as they cope with the loss. He further expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of support from his colleagues within the Nigeria Police Force, as well as from friends, family, and members of the public.
The Commissioner’s statement also acknowledged the compassion and solidarity expressed by the broader community and reassured the public that his commitment to serving the FCT with dedication and professionalism would not waver despite the personal tragedy.
