Oyo Court Remands Father for Defiling His Own Daughter

The Oyo State Family Court 2, sitting at Iyaganku, Ibadan has remanded a 50-year-old man, Mr. Gboyega Lasisi, for allegedly defiling his seven years old daughter without her consent. 


The Magistrate, P.O. Adetuyibi, refused to listen to the plea of the defendant and ordered that Mr. Gboyega Lasisi should be remanded in Abolongo correctional facility in Oyo town, pending the legal advice from the state Directorate of Public Prosecution. 



The case was thereafter adjourned till July 6 for hearing.



The Prosecution Counsel, Insp Folake Ewe, told the court that the defendant had, on March 22, had unlawful sexual intercourse with his seven years old daughter, without her consent. Folake said that the offence was committed in Aro area, Ilora, in the Afijio Local Government area of the state.



Ewe said the offence contravenes Section 34 of Oyo State Child Right’s Law, 2006.
