The Senator representing Adamawa North Senatorial District, Elisha Ishaku Abbo has reacted over his sack from contesting for the Senatorial seat in the forthcoming general election by the State High Court 3 in Adamawa State, which was presided over by Justice Danladi Mohammed.

During the court proceedings, Justice Danladi held that Senator Abbo and the APC are bound by the resolution of Mubi North Local Government Executives dated 7 October 2022, which expelled him from the party, holding to the fact that Abbo is not entitled to enjoy any right or privilege accorded to as APC member.

Abbo complained that the court is ought to be the last hope of the common man but has sadly become cash and carry. He described the judgment of Justice Danladi as flawed, stating that the local government executives have no jurisdiction to expel him from the party.  According to the party constitution, it is only the ward executive that has the constitutional right to punish an erring member of the party and not even the state or the local government executives, he added.

It was recalled that on 11 May 2019, Senator Elisha slapped a nursing mother, Mrs. Osimibibra Warmate at a sex toy shop in Abuja, when the Senator accused the shop owner of contaminating the store’s air conditioner.  However, Senator Abbo was charged with assault and was ordered by the Federal High Court in Abuja to pay a sum of fifty million naira to the nursing mother.

Senator Abbo has appealed to his supporters to remain calm, that the court ruling against him will be challenged at the appeal court, and assured that he will definitely get justice.
