Ghanaian international and Arsenal midfielder, Thomas Partey, has been granted bail following his appearance in a UK court today over a rape charge brought against him.
Partey, 32, who was arrested in connection with an alleged incident that reportedly took place in 2023, appeared before the Magistrates' Court in London on Monday morning. During the session, the presiding judge ruled that the footballer be released on conditional bail pending further legal proceedings.
The terms of his bail were not disclosed publicly, but legal sources indicate they include strict conditions relating to travel and communication. The court also set a future date for a procedural hearing, with prosecutors confirming that investigations remain ongoing.
Partey has denied the allegations, and his legal representatives reaffirmed his intention to vigorously contest the charge.
“Mr. Partey maintains his innocence and is confident that the judicial process will clear his name,” his legal team said in a brief statement outside the courtroom.
The club, Arsenal FC, has yet to issue an official comment on the matter, but it is understood that the player will temporarily step away from team activities as legal proceedings continue.
