The All Progressives Congress (APC) has officially launched its campaign for the upcoming Rivers State Local Government elections scheduled for August 30, 2025. The campaign flag-off took place today at the Captain Elechi Amadi Polytechnic in Rumuola, Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, drawing a massive crowd of party faithful, candidates, and supporters.
The event marks the beginning of a statewide mobilization effort aimed at securing victory across all 23 local government areas. Party Chairman, Chief Tony Okocha, led the state executive committee to the rally, where he presented party flags to chairmanship candidates who emerged from last Saturday’s primaries.
Chief Okocha reaffirmed the party’s commitment to grassroots development and pledged full support to candidates before, during, and after the elections. “This campaign is not just about winning seats—it’s about restoring confidence in local governance and delivering real change to the people of Rivers State,” he stated.
The APC also expressed confidence in the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) to conduct a peaceful, free, and credible election. The party urged all stakeholders to uphold democratic values and ensure a violence-free electoral process.
