The Ogun State Government has officially announced an extension of the deadline for property owners across the state to submit required documentation for property regularization and verification. The new deadline has been moved to September 30, 2025, following widespread appeals from residents and stakeholders.

This decision was made to ensure that all property owners have ample time to comply with the directive, which is part of the state’s ongoing efforts to streamline land administration, enhance urban planning, and improve revenue generation through accurate property records.

Speaking on the extension, the Commissioner for Urban and Physical Planning, Hon. Adebola Akinyemi, stated: “We understand that many property owners are still in the process of gathering their documents. This extension reflects our commitment to inclusive governance and our desire to ensure no one is left behind. We urge all affected individuals to take advantage of this window and comply promptly.”

The government also warned that failure to submit the required documents by the new deadline may result in penalties, including fines or restrictions on future property transactions. Residents are encouraged to seek clarification from official channels and avoid falling victim to misinformation or fraudulent agents.
