Minister Unveils Committee to Boost Agricultural Value Chain

In a bold move to accelerate Nigeria’s agricultural transformation, the Honourable Minister of Agriculture and Rural Development, Dr. Amina Bello, today announced the inauguration of a high-level committee tasked with revitalizing and expanding the nation’s agricultural value chain.









The unveiling ceremony, held at the Ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, brought together key stakeholders from government, agribusiness, academia, and farmer cooperatives. The newly formed Agricultural Value Chain Enhancement Committee (AVCEC) will focus on strengthening production, processing, distribution, and export strategies across priority crops and livestock sectors.










Dr. Bello emphasized that the committee’s mandate aligns with the government’s broader agenda to achieve food security, reduce post-harvest losses, and create sustainable jobs for millions of Nigerians. Key objectives include:









“Agriculture is not just about farming—it’s about creating wealth, empowering communities, and building resilience. This committee will serve as a catalyst for unlocking the full potential of our agricultural sector,” said Dr. Bello.
