The Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria (MDCN) has officially inducted 101 newly qualified medical doctors from Babcock University into the Nigerian medical profession, marking a significant milestone in the nation’s healthcare development.
The induction ceremony, held at Babcock University’s Ogun State campus, was attended by dignitaries from the MDCN, university leadership, faculty members, proud families, and well-wishers. The event celebrated the academic achievements and professional readiness of the graduates, who successfully completed the rigorous Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) program.
Speaking at the ceremony, MDCN Registrar, Dr. Fatima Bako, commended the university for its consistent commitment to excellence in medical education. “These young professionals represent the future of Nigerian healthcare,” she said. “Their induction today is not just a personal achievement, but a national investment in quality care and medical innovation.”
Babcock University Vice Chancellor, Professor Ademola Tayo, expressed pride in the graduates and reaffirmed the institution’s dedication to producing competent, ethical, and globally competitive medical practitioners. “We are confident that these doctors will uphold the highest standards of integrity and service as they enter the field,” he stated.
The 101 inductees join thousands of MDCN-certified professionals across the country, ready to serve in hospitals, clinics, and research institutions. Their induction comes at a time when Nigeria continues to strengthen its healthcare infrastructure and expand access to quality medical services.
The ceremony concluded with the administration of the Hippocratic Oath, symbolizing the graduates’ commitment to ethical medical practice and lifelong learning.
