The Federal Government of Nigeria has unveiled an ambitious national strategy aimed at closing the country’s widening skills gap and connecting 20 million young Nigerians to meaningful employment opportunities over the next five years.
Speaking at the launch event in Abuja, the Honourable Minister of Labour and Employment emphasized the urgency of equipping Nigeria’s youth with future-ready skills to meet the demands of a rapidly evolving global economy. “This is more than a policy—it’s a movement to unlock the full potential of our young people,” the Minister stated.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, in a statement delivered by his Special Adviser on Youth Empowerment, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to inclusive economic growth. “We are investing in our youth not just as beneficiaries, but as architects of Nigeria’s future. This initiative will transform our labor force and ignite innovation across every sector.”
