The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has strongly condemned what it describes as an unprovoked and baseless attack by the African Democratic Congress (ADC), calling it a desperate attempt to distract Nigerians from the ruling party’s growing failures and the suffering of citizens across the country.
In a statement released by the PDP National Publicity Secretary, the party expressed deep disappointment in the ADC’s recent remarks, which appeared to align with the All Progressives Congress (APC)’s narrative and discredit the PDP’s efforts to hold the government accountable.
“The ADC has sadly chosen to abandon its responsibility as a political party and instead act as an attack dog for a floundering administration,” the PDP said. “Their latest comments are not only misleading, but a clear attempt to deflect attention from the real issues affecting Nigerians—soaring inflation, widespread insecurity, and crippling unemployment under the Tinubu-led APC government.”
The PDP reiterated its commitment to rebuilding Nigeria and providing a credible alternative for millions of Nigerians who are disillusioned with the APC’s leadership.
“We will not be distracted by political pawns,” the statement continued. “Our focus remains on mobilizing the Nigerian people, uniting the opposition, and presenting a clear, progressive vision that will lead this country out of its current economic and political crisis.”
Looking ahead to the 2027 general elections, the PDP declared its readiness to defeat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and reclaim leadership at the national level.
“Nigerians are yearning for change—real change,” the party emphasized. “Come 2027, the PDP will lead that change. We are building a strong, inclusive coalition that will deliver victory and return Nigeria to a path of hope, security, and prosperity.”
