In what could be one of the most high-profile moves of the summer transfer window, Liverpool FC have reportedly agreed a sensational £69 million deal to sign Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike.

According to multiple reports emerging from Germany and England, negotiations between the two clubs have reached an advanced stage, with personal terms already said to be agreed in principle between the 22-year-old French forward and the Anfield outfit.

Ekitike, who joined Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain in 2024, enjoyed a stellar season in the Bundesliga, netting 19 goals in 33 appearances and quickly establishing himself as one of Europe’s most exciting young strikers. His combination of pace, flair, and clinical finishing has reportedly made him a top priority for new Liverpool manager Arne Slot as the club looks to usher in a new attacking era following the departure of Mohamed Salah.

If finalized, the move will mark one of Liverpool’s biggest transfers since the signing of Darwin Núñez, and signals the Reds’ serious intent to compete for silverware across all competitions next season.

Ekitike’s versatility to play as a central striker or in wider attacking roles fits well into Liverpool’s high-tempo, pressing style. His arrival is expected to increase competition among the attacking ranks, which already include Núñez, Luis Díaz, Cody Gakpo, and Diogo Jota.

While neither club has officially confirmed the deal, an announcement is expected in the coming days pending a successful medical and final paperwork.
