Head coach of the Nigerian home-based national team, Yemi Chelle, has officially released the final 23-man squad for the upcoming African Nations Championship (CHAN), set to kick off next month. The squad features a blend of experience, rising talent, and tactical depth, with key inclusions such as Sani Nduka, Godwin Obaje, and Sikiru Alimi.

After weeks of rigorous training camps and preparatory matches, Coach Chelle has settled on a list that he believes can go the distance and restore Nigeria's dominance in the continental tournament reserved exclusively for players active in their national leagues.

“We’ve had to make some tough decisions, but I believe this final list reflects a balance of skill, strength, and strategy,” said Chelle during the official squad announcement in Abuja. “Our goal is not just to compete but to contend for the title. These players have earned their spots.”

The final list also includes 20 other top-performing home-based stars who have impressed both in league action and training sessions. The team is expected to depart for their final training camp in North Africa later this week before heading to the tournament host country.

Nigeria, a three-time finalist at CHAN, will be looking to clinch their first-ever title this year under Chelle's leadership.
