The Honourable Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo, SAN, has directed all aviation-related agencies to refrain from making public comments regarding the widely circulated video showing Senator Adams Oshiomhole in an alleged altercation with airport personnel at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.

The Minister, citing the sensitive nature of the incident and the importance of due process, has imposed a temporary communication embargo on all aviation bodies under the Ministry’s purview until a full internal review is completed.

A statement from the Ministry read, “The Honourable Minister has taken note of the video footage currently circulating in the media, depicting the conduct of a prominent Nigerian figure at Lagos airport. In the interest of preserving the integrity of the ongoing review, all agencies under the Ministry are hereby instructed to withhold public commentary on the matter until further notice.”

Minister Keyamo further directed the immediate commencement of a discreet but thorough investigation to establish the facts surrounding the encounter. The review will seek to determine if any procedural infractions occurred—either by airport staff or the individual(s) involved.

“All Nigerians, irrespective of status, are expected to observe protocols and respect the rules governing public institutions, including our nation’s airports,” the Minister said. “The Ministry remains committed to ensuring accountability and upholding the dignity of aviation operations across the country.”

The Ministry assures the public that the findings of the investigation will be made public and that appropriate measures—disciplinary or otherwise—will follow based on its outcome.
