Benue State Governor, Hyacinth Alia, has made a shocking revelation regarding the escalating violence in the state, alleging that some serving politicians in the National Assembly are directly involved in orchestrating and financing attacks on communities.

Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Friday, Governor Alia stated that intelligence reports indicate a well-coordinated effort to destabilize the state, with certain politicians allegedly providing financial and logistical support to the perpetrators.

“We are under siege,” Governor Alia declared, emphasizing that the attacks are not mere clashes between farmers and herders but rather a calculated act of terrorism. He revealed that an interim report from a judicial panel set up to investigate the crisis has implicated several high-profile figures, with the full report expected next week.

Governor Alia vowed to take decisive action once the final report is received, stressing that the safety and security of Benue residents remain his top priority. He condemned the alleged involvement of politicians in the violence, calling it “extremely unacceptable” and reaffirming his commitment to protecting the people of Benue.

The governor urged relevant security agencies to intensify efforts in addressing the crisis and ensuring that those responsible are held accountable. He also called on the federal government to intervene and put an end to the bloodshed that has plagued the state in recent weeks.
