The Take It Back (TIB) Movement has strongly condemned the recent arrest of popular social media influencer, VeryDarkMan (real name withheld), by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), labeling the action as unlawful and a blatant abuse of power.

In an official statement released today, the TIB Movement described the arrest as “a calculated attempt to silence dissent and suppress voices that challenge the status quo.” The group noted that VeryDarkMan has consistently used his platform to expose injustice, advocate for social change, and hold public institutions accountable.

“We view the arrest and continued detention of VeryDarkMan as a clear violation of his fundamental human rights,” said a spokesperson for the movement. “There has been no formal charge, no transparency, and no justification provided by the EFCC. This is not just an attack on one individual — it is an attack on the freedom of expression and democratic values.”

The TIB Movement has called for the immediate and unconditional release of the influencer, demanding that the EFCC respect due process and refrain from the arbitrary use of its authority.

“The EFCC must not be used as a tool to intimidate voices critical of government and systemic corruption. The law must be upheld, not manipulated,” the statement continued.

The Movement also warned that it will mobilize nationwide protests and legal actions should the EFCC fail to release VeryDarkMan promptly and offer a public explanation for the arrest.
