President Bola Ahmed Tinubu arrived in Anambra State today under tight security as part of his ongoing national tour aimed at promoting unity, advancing federal development projects, and engaging with regional leaders across the country.
The President’s visit drew significant attention across the South-East region, prompting heightened security measures throughout the state. In anticipation of his arrival, the Anambra State Police Command announced temporary restrictions on vehicular movement in and around key areas of Awka and surrounding routes. This move, officials said, was to ensure the safety of the President, his delegation, and the general public.
“Given the importance of this visit, we are committed to maintaining maximum security,” said Commissioner of Police Aderemi Adeoye. “All necessary precautions have been taken, including controlled access to certain areas. We urge citizens to cooperate and follow all directives from security personnel.”
President Tinubu was received by Governor Charles Soludo and other top government officials at the Anambra International Cargo and Passenger Airport. During his stop, the President is expected to hold closed-door meetings with state leaders, traditional rulers, and civil society groups. He will also inspect several ongoing federal projects and is scheduled to address a town hall meeting at the Alex Ekwueme Square.
