The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has extended an olive branch to his longtime political rival, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, suggesting that the former Kano State governor may soon find refuge in the ruling party.

Speaking to journalists at the APC national headquarters in Abuja, Ganduje described Kwankwaso, the national leader of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), as politically “stranded,” citing internal divisions and dwindling influence within the opposition party. He noted that the APC remains open to reconciliation and welcomes any politician willing to align with its national development agenda.

"Kwankwaso is stranded politically, and everyone knows it," Ganduje stated. "The APC is a big family. Our doors are open for those who are ready to join hands in building a stronger Nigeria. If he [Kwankwaso] is ready to put aside ego and align with progressive values, the party will welcome him."

Ganduje's remarks come amid ongoing speculation about possible realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections, as Nigeria’s political landscape continues to shift. The two former allies—once governor and deputy in Kano State—have since evolved into fierce political adversaries, particularly during recent elections in the state.
