The Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has successfully apprehended a man reportedly found in possession of a firearm during a church service in Bokkos Local Government Area, Plateau State. The incident occurred on Sunday morning, April 20, 2025, at approximately 8:30 a.m., during a routine security patrol conducted by NSCDC operatives around the church premises.
The suspect, whose identity remains undisclosed, was unable to provide satisfactory documentation or explanation for the firearm in his possession. The swift action of the NSCDC operatives prevented what could have escalated into a serious security breach, ensuring the safety of worshippers and the surrounding community.
The NSCDC Plateau State Command spokesperson, ASP NR Rimvyok, confirmed the arrest and stated that investigations are ongoing to ascertain the suspect's motives and any potential connections to recent security concerns in the area.
