The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has reaffirmed the party's commitment, in collaboration with the National Assembly (NASS), to ensuring that Nigerians living abroad are granted the right to vote in future elections.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ engagement forum organized to discuss electoral reforms and diaspora inclusion, Dr. Ganduje emphasized the importance of giving all Nigerians, regardless of their location, the opportunity to participate in the democratic process.

“It is time to give a voice to our brothers and sisters in the diaspora. They contribute significantly to our national development, not only through remittances but also by representing Nigeria positively across the globe. The APC, working closely with the National Assembly, is fully committed to actualizing diaspora voting,” Ganduje stated.

He added that necessary legislative frameworks and electoral reforms are being reviewed to facilitate the implementation of diaspora voting, aligning Nigeria with other progressive democracies around the world.

Dr. Ganduje commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its strides toward credible elections and expressed optimism that with stakeholder collaboration, diaspora voting would become a reality in the near future.
