Governor Alex Otti has stated unequivocally that he remains unshaken by recent criticisms and political rhetoric from opposition parties, describing their commentary as "noise" that will not derail his administration’s development agenda.
Speaking during an interactive session with journalists at the Government House in Umuahia, Governor Otti said his focus remains firmly on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people of Abia State, regardless of political distractions ahead of the 2027 general elections.
“I am not bothered by the noise from the opposition. We were elected to serve, not to engage in endless political games,” Governor Otti stated. “We have made significant progress in areas like infrastructure, healthcare, and education, and that is where my attention will remain.”
Governor Otti, who was elected on the platform of the Labour Party, emphasized that the people of Abia will be the ultimate judges of performance, not political opponents. He also reaffirmed his commitment to transparency, accountability, and inclusive governance.
When asked about his political plans for 2027, Otti declined to comment, reiterating that it was too early to discuss elections when pressing governance issues still demand attention.
“As far as 2027 is concerned, we will cross that bridge when we get there. Right now, I owe the people of Abia results, not rhetoric,” he concluded.
