The family of the late Herbert Wigwe, former Chief Executive Officer of Access Bank Holdings, has publicly accused his business partner, Aigboje Aig-Imoukhuede, of withholding monthly parental stipends. The family alleges that Aig-Imoukhuede has taken this action due to suspicions that the funds are being used to finance a lawsuit against him.

Herbert Wigwe, who tragically passed away in a helicopter crash earlier this year, was a prominent figure in the banking industry. His untimely death has led to a series of disputes regarding the control and distribution of his assets. The latest development in this ongoing saga involves accusations from Wigwe’s family that Aig-Imoukhuede is deliberately withholding financial support intended for the late CEO’s parents.

According to a statement released by the Wigwe family, the monthly stipends, which were meant to ensure the well-being of Herbert Wigwe’s elderly parents, have been suspended without prior notice. The family claims that Aig-Imoukhuede suspects the funds are being diverted to support legal actions against him, a claim the family vehemently denies.

“We are deeply saddened and disappointed by the actions of Mr. Aig-Imoukhuede,” said Emeka Wigwe, Herbert’s brother. “These stipends were meant to provide for our parents, who are already grieving the loss of their son. To withhold these funds based on unfounded suspicions is both unjust and inhumane.”

The family has called for an immediate reinstatement of the stipends and has urged Aig-Imoukhuede to address the matter with the sensitivity and respect it deserves. They have also expressed their intention to pursue legal action if the issue is not resolved promptly.
