The Rule of Law and Accountability Advocacy Centre (RULAAC) has issued a stern warning against any attempt to manipulate the ongoing legal proceedings in the case involving “Prophet” Ebuka Obi and the Zion Prayer Ministry, in which the ministry is accused of defrauding an individual out of N300 million in connection with a duplex property.

The case, which has garnered widespread public attention, revolves around allegations that the Zion Prayer Ministry, under the leadership of Ebuka Obi, falsely promised a luxurious duplex to a testifier as part of a supposed religious offering. However, the duplex was never provided, and the individual has been left to seek legal redress for the substantial sum of money they paid in good faith.

RULAAC, a leading civic organization committed to promoting accountability, transparency, and the rule of law in Nigeria, has expressed deep concern over the growing speculation of external interference in the case. The organization cautioned against any attempts to influence or manipulate the judicial process to the benefit of the accused, emphasizing that such actions would be a grave injustice to the affected party and a betrayal of public trust.

In a statement released today, RULAAC urged the Nigerian judiciary to ensure that this case is handled with the utmost integrity and fairness. The organization stressed that the principles of justice must not be compromised, and that any effort to subvert the legal process for personal gain or to protect powerful interests must be unequivocally condemned.

“The ongoing trial involving Prophet Ebuka Obi and his Zion Prayer Ministry must serve as a reminder that no individual, regardless of their religious or societal standing, is above the law. We are watching closely and demand that the legal system remain impartial and untainted by outside influences,” said RULAAC’s Executive Director, Olumide Babalola. “We stand with the testifier in this case, and we call for justice to be served swiftly and equitably.”
